Brooklyn Bridge, etc- part 2

Postby beaky » Thu Feb 23, 2006 1:14 pm

Walked all the way down past the Seaport to the heliport, and this time I was able to get closer. Unfortunately, to shoot with the sun at my back, I'd have the terminal bldg. in my way, so this was as good as I could do. It was quite windy and cold, so I didn't hang around too long. But these are OK, yes?
Spotters, do your thing: I'm terrible with helicopters... ;D

The helicopter shown landing in the last set has taxiied to the pickup point...

And off they go, probably to an airport.

These two arrived as I was making my way down from the bridge:

This one's a real beauty; nice camera pod.

Good plan. I've never checked, but it's possible they'd allow you closer, maybe even onto the pad just beyond the terminal.. But just standing on the path along the water, you can see quite a bit.
It's busiest there on weekdays, but there are also heli-tours available all the time (not sure on the price, but that would be a very cool thing to do).

Okay, the first 2 shots: Sikorsky 76S

Then 2 Bell 206 Jetrangers

And finally a Aerospatiale AS-350 Ecureuil

Pretty neat shots!
