If I'm not mistaken, this is a motion simulator made from the cockpit of an F8. no idea if it's operational or what:

Hmmm... this wouldn't be too hard to fabricate... ;D

And speaking of sims, will you look at this... FS9!! There are four of these kiosks; naturally the two boys made a beeline to them. They had never heard of FS9 (I know; sick world we live in); I gave them a few pointers. ;D

Now this... is a sim. Old-school, but not as crude as a Link. It's a Curtiss-Wright Dehmel flight Duplicator, made by CW in nearby Carlstadt.

Here's the instructor's station: to the left is a porthole thru which the student and student's panel can be observed. The disc is for recording data graphically; maybe altitude, I dunno.

The student's "pit".. not sure if there was ever a projection of any kind, or if this was just for instruments. I really ought to have stopped to read the little plaques, etc., but I was on a photo blitz today...my flight sim sickness wuld be complete if i had something like this to shut myself up in... definitely for the best that i don't! ;D

Next: Last from indoors...

The last on looks as if it was an IFR trainer, but a bit more advanced than a Link trainer. :)
