RAF Valley VAS Photoshoot 2005

Postby F3Hadlow » Fri Dec 30, 2005 1:45 pm

Here are a few of my pics from a visit to the VAS Photoshoot held at RAF Valley last August. As I said in the topic 'wales..' the weather wasn't helpful this day. The light was always a problem, in the morning there was none and in the afternoon the sun tended to be right in front of the camera so the pics aren't the best I have. Still, heres a few pics anyway :)

Hope you like them :)

Apologies for the shameless plug here but thought some of you might be interested to know I wrote a report from the day on my site at http://www.aircraftinaction.co.uk/Valleyph.htm ;D

Thanks both of you :) It's a shame the weather was so poor in the morning as it meant the F15E (among lots of others) didn't make it which is always a highlight.

Excellent & I had no idea they put on this event. It seems a wonderful idea although a trip to Wales is further than I'm usually prepared to travel these days. Perhaps I'm spoiled in living so close to the major air display venues.

in the afternoon the sun tended to be right in front of the camera so the pics aren't the best I have.

This seems to be a problem with most airfields in the UK, especially military or ex-military bases. There must be a reason for it but I never figured it out.

Thanks guys, you've almost got me blushing ;) I'm just glad you like them (and you're not sick of me filling this section with my pics ;) ) :)

I know what you mean. The annoying thing about the day was that he sun was behind you when facing the main runway but it was sods law that the fog hid the sun completely until the afternoon where it became almost as much of a hinderance as it was a help! ::)

Thanks again guys :)

I prefer the yellow Sea King...despite the weather it's a sharp photo, probably because the sun was peeping through the clouds for a brief moment.
Raw power...the J-58.

Is the winchman pointing at you in that sea king picture?

Thanks again guys :)

I often wonder that myself, it's quite hard to tell.
