RAF Hendon Pt 2

Postby 61_OTU » Mon Oct 24, 2005 2:43 pm

Part 2 of my RAF Hendon visit, i always used to see this place on the way in to Euston, so glad I finally got in there.

Another for Bjorn, the sublime Bf 109G (it did have a mossie bearing down on it from behind though, I think these RAF Museum types have a sense of humour  ;D)

Image

One for Doug, a Gypsy Moth with one heck of a paintjob

Image

Another for Doug, in fact the guy in the back looks a little familiar.....been moonlighting again Doug?

Image

And finally, in the theme of the inappropriate signs from the Science Museum, here was one I thought was comically accurate, again it seems like those RAF museum types have a bit of a sense of humour   :D

Next up a private tour!!  8)

Great stuff. Very thoughtful of them to provide a little shot of jet exhaust to warm people up before going out into the cold... :D

"Black 6" just doesn't look the same in a museum...

Nice shots. Lovely Hart and a nice Moth...

Just spotted these. Very nice. ;)

Your shots are much better than mine but I posted a very similar one after our AGM at Hendon last year. I suggested that the chap in the back was Terbert (Tony), one of our party.  I haven't seen our old pal Terbert for some time now so maybe I was right & he got stuck in there. :D

I've just read that the Valiant has been moved to Cosford. I am gonna HAVE to get to Cosford now then :) Shame you wouldn't have got to see it at Hendon...
