Cockpit snaps

Postby Mr. Bones » Sat Oct 08, 2005 4:46 am

Last week our national airline SN Brussels Airlines held an Open House. A friend from our soaring association is a pilot for SN. Thanks to him, we could place a glider next to one of their Airbusses and we could also join a scenic flight over Belgium at 3000ft. I could sit in the jumpseat of the RJ100 and had the ride of my life!

Here are some photos...

Good one Bones.

This goes to prove that it's not so much what you know but who you know. ;)

Thanks guys.

The flight lasted a little less than one hour. Instead of the normal climb to cruise, we stayed low so the passengers could see most of our landmarks. We went up to 7000ft, but we ended up into the clouds. Therefore, we went to 2000ft again in uncontrolled airspace! Something you don't do with an airliner every day.
Unfortunately I couldn't stay in the cockpit the entire flight because someone else also had to sit on the jumpseat for a while. Therefore no landing shots...allas.

My friend did 3 flights that day with constantly a passenger in the cockpit. Just because it was a special day I guess, otherwise it wouldn't be that easy.
