Yeovil Air Day Part 2:- The first displays

Postby cspyro21 » Tue Oct 11, 2005 3:07 pm

Continued on:-

Image
A very good first display from the army's helicopter display force, the 'Blue Eagles'. They have 4 Gazelles and a Lynx, and are very good at what they do. It must take a lot of practice to loop a Lynx, after all.

Image
Then the world famous Red Arrows arrived, all 11 of them (the two spare aircraft). Their display was later in the day.

Image
And then, the Sepecat Jaguar arrived, wonderful display. Damn loud though, with full AB's going the gorund shook and I was rather deafened.  ;D

Image
*Hehe* Merlin. I love these helicopters, it's like a cross between a CH-47 and a Lynx, quite versatile and so, well, useable. Great chopper.

If you know what a Hawk sounds like, multiply it by 2, and add afterburners!!! ;D

Nice shots! :)

They look even better with smoke. Hope they get that nonsense sorted out for next year.

Budget cuts would then force them to forget it due to lack of money to pay for the smoke ::) :D

PS. The Jag is a very noisy aeroplane. Not as loud as a Harrier in the hover but loud.

Well, true, but I would say Harriers are louder Hagar, or maybe its because four of them were there when there was 1 Jag.....  ???

Some good displays there. Can't beat the Jaguar and the Red Arrows (the Merlin is pretty impressive too!)
