Has anyone ever seen a clipped-wing Hurricane? Or now I come to think of it, one with a 4-bladed prop?

That last question is not as silly as it might appear. Answers please on a

Good stuff, as usual- gives me an idea for a "Hisory of Flight" airshow that would start with some nut with bat-wings jumping off a tower, move on through tethered manned kites, balloons, and gliders.... then a series of steam-powered gyropters, airphibious houseboats and other things that never really flew... then  to the Edwardian birds, and beyond.
might need a whole weekend for it... ;D

Not as such. I've seen a Hurricane with 2 wings, and a Hurricane with one clipped wing (after hitting a German aircraft with it)...

Or now I come to think of it, one with a 4-bladed prop?

The BBMF's LF363 has spent quite a lot of time over the years with 4-blades, although not recently...

I haven't seen a clipped-wing Hurricane either although it's quite possible there was such an animal.

I didn't know about that BBMF 4-blader so that's another one for my little Black Book of useless information. :D

I have good reason to believe that there will be an article on Hurricanes fitted with 4-bladed props (there was more than one) in a future issue of Aeroplane so keep your eyes peeled. ;)

Its just occured to me that when first restored for the late Charles Church, Hurricane "G-ORGI" flew with a four blade prop too. I'll see if I can find a picture. It went on to reside with the Santa Monica MoF, and most recently with Ed Russell in Niagara, Ontario...

[edit]PZ865 also had a four blader in the late 80's/early 90s. If I remember correctly it was wearing this scheme for the 50th anniversary of the BoB in 1990...

[edit2]...and by 1990 it had a 3 blader again!

In which case from this point on it shall be refered to simply as the Hawker "Ahem".
