Edwardians

Charlie, Craig & I met up at Old Warden today & a jolly fine day out it was too. I sat back & let Craig take most of the photos cos he's better at it than me & it gave me a chance to watch the show. I'm not as silly as I look. 8)

The others left before me & I was lucky enough to see the Edwardians (pre WWI aeroplanes) fly. These are the sort of shots I was hoping for at the Sunset Display last week. I've posted shots of these before so won't bore you with my usual diatribe. ;)

Avro Triplane & Bristol Boxkite replicas.

Blackburn Type D Monoplane. This is an original built in 1912 & the oldest airworthy British aeroplane in the world. It flies very well indeed.

The 1909 Bleriot XI. Similar to the one that crossed the English Channel in the same year.

Pity Craig wasn't there to get some better shots of that Bleriot. Mine didn't come out too well but this is a pretty rare event.

Doug, stop putting yourself down. Top shots of some amazing aircraft. I am definitely going to put Old Warden on the calendar for next year.

Cheers

Beautiful shots Doug, definatly worth the wait:) Your photos are very nice Doug, you are just too critical of your abilities:) ;) I certainly couldn't have done any better and most likely alot worse. In perfect conditions like the afternoon it was luck, but in low light, you have captured them beautifully.

Holy cow, the light couldn't have been better...
The Bleriot shots aren't too bad... sort of super-snapshots.
And who cares? It's an airworthy Bleriot XI !!!
