Some misc. shots from day of Intrepid visit

Not great pictures, but interesting...
While standing on the aft end of Intrepid's flight deck, watched this ocean liner back out of its slip.... without any tugs!! Pretty cool; I didn't know they could do that. I know about bow thrusters, etc., but I thought using tugs was still S.O.P.

Walked downtown along the river to the Chelsea Piers, to visit the schooner Anne and maybe say hello to Reid Stowe, her owner... saw a couple of people busy on deck, but no sign of Reid. They were working hard, so I didn't bother them. She's being prepared for Reid's record-breaking 1000-day sail, finally scheduled for departure this Thanksgiving. I'll have to make sure i'm there to see them off...

Put the long lens back on the Canon and set up the tripod when I got home; got this slightly shaky shot of a 747 on final at KEWR. Anybody know what airline that is?

I know these are not the best quality, but I'm itching to post my recent ORA pix, and still don't have the damn cable for downloading from my new digital camera...
 :'(
Just had to get my picture-sharing "fix", i guess. ;D

I know the feeling. A bit like getting out the family album. :D
I was going to post some of my old ones but there's so much good stuff from EAA I decided not to.

Dude, I have about 150 shots from Sunday alone, and that's after winnowing out the clunkers. I'm gonna have to make some hard choices... maybe I'll stick to just the best of the aircraft(still a lot of pictures!), and if anyone has a request for an engine, car, etc., I'll see if I have one or two they'd like to see.

Still can't figure out why that lead was missing. If it's a special one I would have thought it should be included with the camera or the docking gizmo. I've sometimes found these 'missing' items hidden away in the packaging.

Problem here is that I bought a display model; came with nothing, not even a battery.Despite that, though, I still got a good deal.
I thought for sure the damn dock would come with a cable, but it's not in there, or listed on the parts list (which is of course not on the box). Believe you me, I tore that box apart- I've gotten very good at that as an A/V installer...;D
It is a special one (the shape of the mini-head, not the "pinout", is non-standard); Kodak offers them for $15 plus s&h, and about 4 weeks waiting; NewEgg has them for $4 plus and about a 3-day wait.
FedEx says it's due tomorrow- hope it's the right one!
 :P ;D

I believe 744 is a short way of saying 747-400.

'Tis.
