Nope. Sithee seems to be the compulsory ending to any sentence. I never figured out what it actually means. :D

This seems logical. I have no idea about the others though. Ginnel & mardy? Like a foreign language. Now I'm even more confused. ??? ;D

When I lived in Barnsley, a "Gennal" was a Ginnel with a hard "G"; Mangy pronounced "Morngy" meant mardy and Sithee meant literaly "See thee".

I love local dialects. The Yorkshire accent always fascinated me. It varies a lot in different parts of the county & even the locals where I visit can't understand a broad North Yorkshire dialect. The old landlord of the village pub came from there & he used to have us in hysterics with his jokes. Nobody could understand a word he said but it was the way 'e told 'em. ;D

Seems a shame if it's going out of fashion. Look here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire/content/articles/2005/01/05/voices_ask_expert_feature.shtml

PS. There was no South Yorkshire when I first visited. Barnsley would have been in the West Riding.
