The little Buggar is finally finished!

After 17 years of hard work and gray hairs from my dad, he is finished. A 1960 Austin Healey Sprite. The epitomie of British sports cars in the 60's. I'm bummed 'cause I can't find the before picture of him (yes, it's a him). I know it's around somewhere but I can't find it. Ah well, the photos now are what's important in this case.

A rather simplistic interior.


The office (don't know why it's tilted. On the camera it looks fine). And yes, the wheel isn't on the right. My dad wanted it on the left because when he started this whole restoration project, I think it was illegal to have wheels on the right.


It took me forever to finally figure out how to start this thing. The key goes in, and you pull the "S" knob out and to the right, while depressing the clutch fully and giving it gas slightly. Agh!


Not much to it, eh?

He is one happy SOB. (That's my brothers legs in the backround if you're wondering.)


Can't wait 'til I turn 23 to drive this! (He's registered as an antique and you have to be 23 to drive such a car..)

Aye. Didn't know the "Frogeye" one though. Interesting. Especially considering that a frogs eyes are rather small..

That's a beaut...and a job well done!! Your old man's grin shows all the satisfaction of completing such a project.
And I have to say I agree that a Bugeye is probably male... my dear departed '76 Fiat Spider, on the other hand,  was definitely female!!
