The Corsairs...
This one was the subject of a lecture as I was walking up. I didn't sit for the lecture, but i did listen as I walked around, and it was very interesting.

Try as I might, I couldn't wait around for them to take the tarp off of this one.

This was an interesting story. The plane was pulled from a swamp in South Carolina, and after restoration had begun, the Naval Historical Society decided they wanted the plane. They sued the owner for transportation of the plane, any legal fees, and alterations to the original airframe! There was a nice little legal battle and in the end, the guy won out and the plane is waiting to be restored.

The Spitfires
Unfortunately, there were only two Spitfires, but they were great ones. Ozzy can fill you in on the details, but I can say this is the only trainer I have ever seen. I talked at length to the owner of the other Mk IX, and he was a great feelow and only too happy to chat with the dozens of people standing around.

The MkIX trainer. She was a beauty...

The front office.

I waited around a bit for this shot of the engine. It was worth it! The plane owner is on the right.

The Duck
If I had known what I was looking at, I would have taken more pics. Afterwards, I read an Aviation Classics article on this plane. This is the only surviving plane from the attack on Pearl Harbor! I am still kicking myself!

The Avenger
I have been wanting to see one of these up close for a while now. Another one where no one showed up to take the cover off. ::)

The B-25
Ain't she a beauty? :)
