That's cool... I actually enjoyed my couple of commercial flights aboard 717s. I could swear there's a little more leg room, and it's just small enough that you feel like you're flying. Did you fly part of the trip on the 717?
Not that I mind the peek at the 767 flight deck... 8)

man i wish, i dont have a pilots license yet. lookin into it, i just took my first intro flight this past monday. (was flyin a white and brown 172)  i couldn't believe the experience, 10x better than flight sim (mabye it's just my computer then)

naw it's a commerical flight. i had to run to my seat on the 767 because they had already started pushing back while i was still up there.

(btw im the fat one takin up space in the captains chair, lol)

:)Ramos

P.S. btw does anyone know of a rival to the garmin G1000. next to the 172 i flew, there was a piper archer with a system remarkably close to the g1000, but it was by someone else. anyone know of it?

Dude, I meant "did you fly part of the trip on the 717" as a passenger... ::)
Glad to hear you took an intro flight- no, it's not your computer; real flying is better than computer sims, better than sex, better than anything!!
  ;D

As for the GPS question: call me a cranky old fuddy-duddy if you want, but I'd recommend to any beginner to concentrate on clock, chart, and compass when learning to navigate- they're a lot less likely to fail you than any GPS unit, no matter how fancy. And sometimes it's just not a good time to be fiddling with it... if you continue taking lessons, my advice is to learn to use every item in the plane, but beware of any CFI who doesn't stress the importance of basic VFR navigation.
