Extreme boredom and $67.75 worth of change.

Postby Triple_7 » Fri Jul 01, 2005 11:45 pm

Its been a long day and this is what happens.  I have a bottle full of change that I was curious as to how much was in it.  A bit surprised when the silver change alone added up to $67.75.  Then the boredom was even worse.  So I started a little building project...Not suposed to be anything...Just my own little design and added as i went :P  And it gave me a chance to experiment with the cammera some more.

After its all been sorted out.  I have another bottle with a couple bucks worth of pennies...But didnt feel like counting them all out :P

Half hour later and this is what came of it.

A view from above.
Image
Backside of the outer wall consisting of all but 9 of the nickels.
Image
Side view.  The wall accualy curved out and back in.  Quarters are all stacked in the middle.  Top of the wall made a kind of roof the width of another nickel.  All is free standing with no support from inside.
Image
Odd angle...But shows more of the depth.
Image
And just another odd angle from ground level.
Image

Entire structure consisted of:

166 Quarters...$41.50
120 Dimes...$12
285 Nickels...$14.25

And theres something different about the quarters then the rest.  Also from the top view...Theres is something odd about every coin  ;)

It was really boredom...I dont have ADHD...But surprisingly I do have ADD.  Its just one of those things, ever sence I was a little kid I could build interesting little things out of anything and everything.  I get distracted really easy at school and such.  But things like this I don't.  Its an empty house most nights so things are quiet.

This week has been the worst for things to do.  Everyone I usualy hang out with during the week is out of state, town, and 2 of them out of the country.  So its boring and I'm still off work for another week or 2 from my little accident :-[  Internet keeps crashing as well, thats what led to this ::)

Could, but the shipping fee would probably cost more then whats there :P

Had the bottles there when I was origionaly trying to build towers out of the nickels.  Helped keep them nearby when they fell ;)

And yes, all coins are facing heads up, also they are all facing forward, and the quarters are the only coins to be in stacks of 4 (with 3 stacks of 2)

Don't drink as much Dr. Pepper as I used to.  Lately its been beer and cream soda  ;)

This bottle of change is small compaired to others I had.  Up till the end of my 8th grade year we used cash for school lunches.  I would get $2 a day and usualy spend less then $1.25.  At the end of 7th grade year I cashed in around $160 worth of change 8th grade close to $125 :o

This has been gathering for at least 7-8 months.  Would have probably triple this if we still used cash for school lunches...Now we have an account and a 4 digit code..Hate it since if you forget to put money in your account you cant eat >:(  Always have cash on hand...But after the 8:15 bell they wont put it in till the next day >:(  Stupid system that was supposed to speed things up...Accualy made it worse if the computers are screwy...which most of the time they are :-/  And a lot of people are forced to starve some days :-/
