This 'n' That

Postby beaky » Mon Jun 27, 2005 7:03 am

Couple of random pix from the last month or so...

Been working at a job site near Central Park- this is a cheapo disposable pic of the park taken from just near the subway entrance on a perfect spring day...

A sunrise shot of a KEWR arrival taken from my bedroom window...

One of the boardrooms at the aforementioned site (another cheap camera snap)... main display is three huge RPs... that's the videoconference camera on the center RP, and the "Pearl Harbor" DVD on the other two (stupid movie, but some nice airplane footage!).

Mind you that was taken with a 400mm lens... with the naked eye, the planes look pretty small.  I'm about 1.5 miles from the 04/22 centerline. But it's cool sometimes to just sit and watch in the living room as they pass by across five big windows. I'd love to get some touchdown/takeoff shots with the telephoto, but there are buildings in the way.
Look for upcoming shots taken from the neighborhood east of me, where they come  low enough to see the tire treads!!

Nice shots, did they ever get rid of those orange ribbons in Central Park?

Yeah, "Gates" or whatever it's called, was temporary. I was disappointed, 'cause I like some of Christo's other projects. But this one fell kinda flat. I think Central Park just defies embellishment.
