We like tha MOOOOOOOON!!!!

Postby Woodlouse2002 » Wed Jun 22, 2005 6:25 pm

Well, earlier Fozzer alerted me to the fact it was a full moon tonight. Having attempted to get a good pic last night I thought I'd try again tonight and see what the results were.

So, taking over 70 shots and fiddling endlessly with the settings I got the following results...

Good eh? ;D

The last shot is one of Venus taken with a 15 second exposure (the longest allowed by my camera) the fact that it's drawn out like that is due to the earths rotation. :)

It's not very high in the sky so you could easily be too far north. Try looking to the south/southwest in a couple of hours.

Nice... I took some pix of a blood-red rising  Moon last night- hope they come out OK.
You might want to try shooting objects like Venus at a shorter exposure setting- it's pretty damn bright, so you may not need such a long exposure.

Like so? ;D

I got the effect I was aiming for in that first one. It's just a pity my camera only goes up to 15 seconds. :)

long exposures are good fun. I am going to take mine out one night and set it for 10 or 15 minutes and see what sort of star trails i can get.
Some really good photos woody. When are we going to get to see a tour of your town?

Cool shots woody!!
This was the best shot I got from Torquay, but then again I only took three shots (sponsored by Carlsberg last night) as I really just wanted to go to bed.

Cheers all...!

Happy mooning...; Image

LOL...!

P.S. Hi Woody...!

As you seem to have a high powered telephoto lens, how about a shot of the Space Station.
(It also shows up as a bright object in the sky each night).
