Awesome quality there! The sky and reflections are just perfect in the first shot! :)

I can't believe how close you can get Jared!!!!!!
In Britain the aircraft are normally fenced off so you can't get within 50 yards of 'em!
I think I need to get Stateside for some airshows!!!

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Is that right Mark? I was at an airshow yesterday too and the A-10s were right up there for the touching. 8) In fact, there were people watching the airshow from under the wing of the A-10s for the shade!  :o

I'd recommend that... at many shows, one is allowed to get aboard some of these warbirds, usually for a small fee (costs a boatload of money to keep 'em flying). Some of these groups also offer rides, for a somewhat larger fee...

Yep I totally agree with you Rotty, it is a great benefit to the aviation community when common mortals are allowed entrance to the cockpit of an aircraft if even for a few brief seconds, sometimes this can lead them to an understanding of why us nuts love these airplanes so dearly, and once in awhile they can be prusaded from their agression towards the airport and aviation in general.

My motto is the closer the better! ;)

Mind you, I would never go and climb in someone's airplane or even touch it without permission, but I will definately walk right up to it and peer into the windows to see what kind of panel layout, etc. :)

I love the B-17G.  I have seen Fuddy Duddy around here in Western NY a bunch of times, you can reserve rides on it, too.
