VE Day Airshow, part 1, Ultimate Piston.

A bit of self indulgence here chaps ;) I love this aircraft, almost as much as a Spitfire. The Hawker Sea Fury, finest piston engined fighter ever built?

So nice to see this awesome aircraft back after all the engine problems it has had in recent years. Well done Royal Navy ;D

Very moody shots. I like the last one. ;)

They're obviously treating the Sea Fury like a crate of eggs. Not too many chances for some nice top shots. Let's hope the pilot gets more confident during the season. It would be nice to see her at Old Warden.

Just as well considering the MoD/RNHF's record with Sea Furies - they've lost 3 in the last 20 years (one FB.11 and two T.20s...)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Well Hawker Tempest5 that bloody Sea Fury cost me nearly a weeks wages one time. :( :(

We were drinking one night in the Officers Mess with several Royal Canadian Navy Sea Fury Drivers...now some fool said that the Sea Fury could beat the "T" Bird (T33) and the Canadair Saber (F86) to 5000ft.

Well there is nothing more immoral than a Navy "swabbie" telling an Airforce Gentleman that his Aeroplane is better!

OKAY damit I will admit again he did pass through 5000 before we did and I still find it hard Navy "swabbies" can drink that much beer ;DLOL

You are right it is the finest piston fighter ever built.

I think I need a drink after saying that....thanks for posting the old girl HT5.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

I then should not repost photos of a Sea Fury trash heap of the early '60s?

Please don't. You would be responsible for making several grown men cry, including me. :'(
