Closer Snowbird shots

Postby Rifleman » Fri Apr 15, 2005 9:42 am

It would be nice to have my old film camera and my long(400mm zoom) for these kind of shots, but my poor tired little 2 MP digital is going to have to do .......I shot this out the front door of work yesterday (Wed)......Yes indeed, the Snowbirds are back for their twice a day practice sessions over the skies of Comox/Courtenay and the Comox Valley........with almost three weeks of them here, I anticipate getting up to the end of the runway to see about shooting them out of the sky...... ;)

They are turning a 180 here to go downwind, right to left, before making their landing break......

Nice Ken! :)

Reminds me of my time spent living up in Lincolnshire, and seeing the Red Arrows practicing over the winter months...

Here is how we find out if the boys are really back in town ...just in case someone is deaf, they put this on the front page of the paper........

I took a little local heat for not posting some closer images of the boys, so here are a couple which I shot with my little 2 MP Olympus......

Great shots!  I'm still waiting for Candace to develop the pictures she took when she went up with them on their first practice demonstration of the year - lucky girl.

Very nice too. I find these formation shots the most difficult.
