Autumn Air Show - Duxford 2

Postby Hagar » Thu Sep 16, 2004 5:09 pm

Unfortunately my shots of the display were disappointing to say the least. Here's a couple that came out OK.
RAF Nimrod with open bomb bay.

B-17 in similar pose.

Utterly Butterly team looping. You can just make out the girls standing on the top wings.
Image

The Sabre landing.
Image

Hellcat just after landing.
Image

More static shots taken with old faithful. I forget what this is. Anyone?
Image

Nice Dragon Rapide. There were two examples doing pleasure trips. I was almost tempted to part with some hard-earned cash. I've already spent far too much this month.

This one turned out well. Probably the best shot I took all day.

Doug, your mystery A/C just may be a Belgian Air Force SIAI-Marchetti SF-260D ?

damn, Ken was too fast for me. Indeed it's a Marchetti used by our own Air Force. a few weeks back i took a seat in one (no, we didn't fly).
it's used for basic acro training. students also fly their first solo in one of those. after that, our students will go on the Alpha Jet and later when they are lucky, on the F-16.  ;)
Raw power...the J-58.
