Coxyde Airshow

Postby Mr. Bones » Sat Jul 10, 2004 10:24 am

a week ago, i visited the Koksijde Open Door. it wasn't really an airshow (no display teams) but it was a good opertunity to test out my new ditigal camera...for the first time at an airshow. even with the extremely bad weather, we both had a great time!

Tornado (GR.4 i think) from the Luftwaffe

F-16 from the Belgium Air Force

Seaking based at Coxyde. Before the show started, we saw one departing to the North Sea because a ship was in trouble...a real scramble!  8)
Image

F-16 from Holland. you can see this plane together with Christian "Louis" Van Gestel at almost every airshow in Europe...including RIAT!
Image

Two F-16's and two Fouga Magisters, all from the BAF. here you see the formation breaking.

Belgian F-16...not a really good shot but my first vapor one!  8)

hope you like this small slideshow. like i said, the weather was really bad so it was very hard to make descent photos. when you have a 'budget lens' such as mine, it doesn't become easier... when i can and if you want, i'll post more later ;)

right you are Craig, i use the kitlens but also the EF 75-300 USM III which isn't very sharp at 300mm in bad light conditions. only the first two photos above are taken with the kitlens, the others with the zoomlens at 300mm. the best ones i uploaded to Anet (taken with the kitlens). if they are accepted, you can see how good that one is (for it's price).  ;)

Good one Bones. This bodes well for RIAT. ;)

Hope the weather is better for you.

Not sure I get this thing with Anet. ??? As I understand it they don't pay for the shots & they remain your property. I don't see how they can prevent you from posting them anywhere you wish. ::)

Canon EOS 300D/Digital Rebel. the camera doesn't make the shots, it's the lens that's important and right now, that one is still a cheap one! it will take more than a year untill i can show you what this camera really can!  ;)
