Random selection

It's been a rotten day with teeming rain & the wind howling around my lug'oles. Thought I'd look through some of my shots & post a few to cheer myself up. All taken recently at Shoreham.

Possibly my favourite shot so far. I've probably posted it before but never mind. 8)
Someone going on an aerobatic lesson. Smile please. ;)

This is where the above shot was taken from. Aircraft enthusiasts start young these days. Grandad will have to start saving up. ;)

Some taken a couple of weeks ago. A visitor from across the Channel.

We get quite a few executive types nowadays. This one's based at Redhill.

More passengers off to Alderney in the Channel Islands last week.

The weather was much better yesterday. Much more like summer. General shot of the refuelling area from the terminal building. I like this spot as most visitors stop here to refuel.

Pretty little Aviat Husky. I've been tring to get a decent shot of it for some time. Not sure I succeeded. ::)

I don't think there are too many of these about. Anyone know what it is? No cheating.

Well spotted. It's listed as a Starduster Too. 14 Stardusters of various types are listed on the UK register.

PS. Thanks for the comments Craig. Unfortunately it was a little too close & I clipped the elevator trying to get it all in. In hindsight I should have taken a step back but all this happens so quickly. I find that the blurred prop is a matter of luck. I shoot on automatic & it depends on the engine (prop) revs. Either side of a certain rpm & the blades appear stationary as in my shot of the Starduster. The engine was running & the aircraft was taxying when I took it.

The weather here in the UK is very bad right now with high wind and heavy rain and with only two days to go until Flying Legends it's not looking good at all :'( At least it's sunny in your shots Hagar old pal. Once again, nice photos.

Hagar I've decided, I'm coming to visit you the next time I'm in Blighty during the summer! Shoreham airport needs an Ozzy invasion ;D

I remember the very unique turtledeck of the two place Starduster from way back in the early days of its life.....it was a cover article in Air Progress magazine back in my youth..........
