I did some research and found that the Varney Speed Lanes version of that AC was Continential Airlines first flight (July 15, my birthday, but not the year (1934)). Couldn't get a decent shot with it though.

:-? I didn't even know that there's a payware screenshot contest - I always thought that all contests beside the known monthly contest are under the StudioV-topic...

This used to run in the StudioV, but no one noticed it there, and most of the people that post in Payware, rarely go into the other boards it seems.

So I tried to give each board it's own little 'special monthly' contest after a request from the members was made.


I try to run as many contests as the members want, and will support.

This contest for instance, is about to die out.

Participation & voting gets fewer each month.

After June's comp I'll know if it needs to go on or not.


There is one going in edited, similar to Mic's 'Edit This', but it appears it may go the way of the dodo also.

Another getting ready to start in JULY is called 'Head 2 Head', an anything goes best of the best, elimination tournament screenshot comp.(taking signups in the studioV now!)

A monthly best of for the Cage was going, but got no interest so it was pulled.

I do this for fun, but if you're not having any, than I am always open to ideas, themes, suggestions.

the comps need to to be IMHO and there also needs to be members that post on them

you might try and give out some sort of incentive i dont know what but something a bit like a JC comp but different if you get my drift

I'd love to, but since I'm running FSX on low specs it's hard to take good screenies without having to switch between different settings... And since I do not own payware this contests close to me.
Well at least I'm a big fan of all contests and especially the freeware one - I try to participate as often as the topic (or better: my system) allows it...

Thanks Shane for putting all the effort into this! Congrats to all who played! It's special to have this place where we can enjoy one another's photos.

It's true, there are so many contests, etc., it's hard to keep track. I didn't even know this one was closing and only found it at random this morning  ;D
