VSX whistlestop 'tour' - WET

Postby krigl » Tue Feb 26, 2008 4:32 pm

Here's a second, wetter set from Voz Scenery X, which I'm just exploring a little before Aus Blue comes out (March 5th is the official date....).

An extra one I just liked, from that area...

I don't have time to explore properly, but so far I like what I see...Even though it's not such a radical change from default as VOZ was to FS9, due to the fact it's mainly landclass work and no/few textures, with FEX and VSX Australia does seem (IMHO) a very attractive place to fly even if you don't go for the payware textures/autogen etc option.

Do you like flying in Oz? You might like to compete in this week's Judge's Choice in Studio V - Australia is the topic  :)

Cheers

These are nice shots with a nice choice of a good looking aircraft.

I totally did a sailing trip last summer in the Whitsundays (highlight of my vacation down under) I'm pretty sure I see the bay in which we spent the first night.  (in the last shot, not the linked)

:D

Great shots!

Wow! Fanstastic shots.... most realistic ones I've seen in ages! Been to all the places too. :P Got a bigger version of the second last one?

I have an 8800GT... same core as your GTS... lightbloom doesn't work on my system though. :( What drivers are you usin? EDIT: Now it randomly started working.  ::) Ran like crap...

Oh, and that isn't Hamilton Island. Looks like Whitsunday Island. Hamilton is the small island with the 6000 foot strip on it. :)

Another nice series there Roger! Still can't get enough of Australia? I can't blame you ... from the shots I've seen from you it looks like a really cool place to spend some virtual flying time ...

I like these shots although the first looks a little empty ... never been there so I don't know what it looks like in real life though. But you made that up with the second; great skies. The water looks very ncie too with all that difference in color. Too bad for me that it's for FSX as I would really like to try that package ...

Although we don't agree on some issues  :-[ :-/ ;) it's still your kind of tours that inspired me to do mine ...

Lovely shots, but I'm afraid I don't like #1 (scenery-wise that is..), the scenery just looks far to unreal, very sharp edges to the water, one river not really ending in the lake/sea, and it looks as if the right river flows over a hill

Thanks for the comments! I like the strangeness of the first one, they must have removed the trees from the area somehow... makes me think of wide grassy meadows sloping gently down towards the lakes.

I'm no expert, but I'm fairly sure I flew around Hamilton Island in VOZ in one of the set flights, and it was that island, but whatever...

Glad I brought back some memories Flyboy... I'd love to have a holiday there!! I can only go there virtually.

Vodka Burner, I may have a larger copy but I'm not sure which picture you're referring to (as one pic is 'extra' I don't know which you mean by 'second to last'). Send me a pm with the pic and I'll reply with a larger version of it, if you still want it of course
