You little military you....aren't you a little lost here. I see no fighterjets in the thread ;D

But yeah...you can't compare commercial ops with jetjockeys in the airforce   :-*

Lol! I've just spent the last week getting an instrument rating! 30degrees AOB, very gentle (apart from my approaches!). Sadly no computer and autopilot to help with the work! ;D

No, commercial pilots are human... ;D

Ah, I was working for a good few hours trying to figure out how to get that bird going.  I got as far as starting the APU, and I couldn't figure out how to get it going.  I connected ground power (very cool in the LDS 767) and next thing was to flip the APU switch, it didn't start.

Is the battery turned on?  ;)

Yeah, I have a tutorial/guide/manual/checklist for it, and though some things are abbrieviated, it's difficult.  Howabout this, tell me exactly what you need to do beforehand to get the APU started.

And everything past that point would be well appreciated.

Weird, it should start with ground power, and even with just batterypower (If there's no AC power available the starter generator just uses DC instead)
So nothing is happening to the APU at all? No movement in the APU EGT or N1?

No.  I mean, I'm turning the knob that says APU, to start, then it flips back to run or something.  But the APU light never turns to run.  And I keep getting calls from the cabin, them complaining that there's no air circulation, so I'm guessing the APU isn't on.

Okay
Turn on the Battery
Call for external power..when the button on the overhead says "Avail", PUSH IT.

Now turn the APU on, and monitor the lower EICAS for any APU activities.
Make sure APU bleed is on, and set packs to auto. Now you have Air conditioning
