Hi there,

Here are some shots of the beautiful F-104 Starfighter in RCAF trim. Departure at dusk over the Canadian North. I hope you enjoy and comments are encouraged!

Thanks

I love the oranges and reds of the sunset- especially in FS ;)
I'm always amazed the F`104 gets off the ground with those tiny wings!
Amazing shots, Eric!!

Very nice shots Eric.

Well when your flying a rocket you really only need those tiny wings for stability.

Just more proof that if you put a big enough engine on a brick, it will fly. The F-4 is the originator of that phrase, but the 104 fits it also. The wings are there for stabilation, and somewhere to put the fuel, hence the HUGE tip tanks.

Oh Yes, Canada!!!!  Canadian Armed Forces!!!!  Dubbed the "Flying Lightpole" by Canadian Pilots who flew them overseas.  Had a boss who flew them and Oh you should have heard the "hairy", "scary" stories.  Tough a/c to fly as well, I been told.  Beautiful pictures.!!!  Makin' me homesick there, Eric

Thanks for the replies. It is definately a tough plane to learn to fly properly. If you just hammer it and point it to the sky, its pretty straight forward. Landing, thats another story. I've had this payware for about 1 year and I'm just now able to land it wherever I need to. It was a steep (appropriate word for landing) learning curve!!
