Testing my new toy.

Postby Silver1SWA » Sat Jun 12, 2004 3:11 pm

Well, I finally purchased the PMDG 737-800/900.  I decided to take it out for a few test flights prior to delivery.   Soon she will wear AA colors.  ;D

It flies better than the 600/700's...use flaps 40 for approaches, the field view is just so much better, since you don't need to fly with the 3 degree positive pitch!

Yoj won't regret this  :)

I have not bought this one yet, but the plans are in the works. I don't know if I have enough knowledge about flying to get it off the ground....hell, even fired up  :o

It is a fantastic looking bird though.

Thanks Nexus82, I will keep that in mind.  Although overall I still prefer the 737-700 (it's my favorite of the whole 737 family), this aircraft is definitely a beauty and flies wonderfully.

SaVas,

Yeah this thing definetly takes some hours of learning.  The first time I flew the PMDG 737-700, I sat on the runway for 4.5 hours in the middle of the night while I read through the thick manuals.  I eventually got tired and never took off.  LOL.  But I love it.  Reading the manual and getting to know every peice of the airplane really pays off.

Your affection of the -700 surely has nothing to do with your bias to SWA, now has it ;)  ;D

I prefer the 800 series though  :)

i agree the 700 variant is king of the 737 family..the 800 and 900 look overstretched

the winglet version is pretty funky as well
