My first attempt at doing a profile.....the colourings and letters arent great but hey, here it is!

Nice work! You left out the Prop lines tho, if you look carfully on the tech drawings there are lines for the propellor.

Very nice, but as you said, the colouring is a little off.

I tend to use these colour charts when drawing:

Sometimes you have to guess as to what colour is right, but you can get a pretty good match.

Another time, perhaps add shading and panel lines, to improve it. ;)

That website is bloomin useful!!
Saves using photos that are taken in various light.

it was originally shaded but my free copy of PSP5 was playing up a bit and eventually I settled with this.

Oh, this is so cool! That website is maintained by one of my work colleagues, Arjan!
He does a great job skinning IL-2 planes! I'll tell him about your comment tomorrow :D

You might also want to check out his other website www.1java.org.
It's an IL-2 virtual squadron called the "1 JAchtVliegtuig Afdeeling" ... the 1st Fighter Squadron.
