Hi,

A interesting thing happened at my school over the weekend, a plane with a engine fault had to make an emergency landing on our school field with no power he successfully glided the plane onto the field.

Very interesting to watch.

I fear it was surely MUCH less interesting for the pilot (never forget that every emergency landing, and especially the engine off ones have a very high "brown pants factor" ). Some three days ago something like that happened hereabout too. A engine fried C172 landed on the rough of a golf course with fortunately no damage neither to the plane nor its three occupants. Same considerations about the "interesting" factor; high for onlooking people, VERY low for the ones flying the suddenly powerless plane-become-glider.
