I think you're missing the point. This is a proposed restoration under the original type approval for occasional flights at air displays. There is no intention to carry passengers or put it back into service. Any modification would involve new type approval which would not only be expensive & time-consuming but I would say impossible in the current economic climate.

I personally would like to wish them the best luck in the world. It is a worthy and challenging goal, but if the 558 team could do it then why not? It'd be lovely to see her back where she belongs!
