Sounds like he credits the Stearman.....

I saw Mr. Stix fly this plane around quite a lot as a youngster.

Ouch  :( Good job they survived!
I always think of IL-2s, and A-10s as the tanks of the air. Now the Stearman can join too  ;D

Too bad about that ol' gal, but she did a good job of protecting them.


The noteworthy part of the pics of it for me was how well the support(s) between the fuselage and the upper wing held up.

For as long as I can recall, Mr. Stix has always orbitted for a spell over the annual drag boat races that have been held on a lake near the airport he calls home.
