1st commercial A380 flight lands at Heathrow today

Postby igs942 » Tue Mar 18, 2008 3:11 am

Marking the final stages of Heathrow's plans to increase capacity while keeping the number of flights the same.

I was lucky enough yesterday to learn that my work are sending me to Singapore in May. Anyone have any ideas how I can increase my chances of getting on the A380, bearing in mind work will be booking flights shortly with Singapore Airlines. Are there flight numbers allocated to SA's new A380 route which I can ask work to look out for?

Cheers

Ian

Unfortunately, I always fly Northwest, so I couldn't tell you how Singapore books its flights (and I am a wee bit sleepy now to go exploring their website).  But . . .

When I book a flight through Northwest, they always list several flights matching my travel criteria, and the flight information for each available flight always has the scheduled aircraft.  From there, I can select a flight that will be using the aircraft I want to fly on (I always try for a 747-400).

Or, you could ignore my late night/early morning rambling and follow what KDSM posted.  Yeesh . . . I need to go to bed or drink more coffee . . .

Best of luck,
Darrin (the mindless)

Ian. Go to Airline Network and enter approximate dates. The results they show you will be all the flights available on SIA with the aircraft type used on said flight numbers.

I actually was just through Heathrow today and on the 21st.  On the 21st I was taking a BA flight into CDW from Heathrow, and while we were leaving the gate I noticed an A380 on the ramp right there.  I tried to get the picture but we turned too fast for my camera.  It was a nice looking plane though
