UK events cancelled

Postby Hagar » Tue Feb 26, 2008 4:23 pm

I'm probably the last one to find out but I've just discovered that two forthcoming UK aviation events have been cancelled.

Aviation World at Old Warden 26-27 April 2008. http://www.aviationworld2008.co.uk/

Great Vintage Flying Weekend (G-VFWE 2008) at Hullavington 16th-18th May. This is the end of this popular event. :( Press Release

That didn't surprise me when I heard. Firstly, I'd seen several adverts in Key's various magazines and still couldn't quite see what the event actually was, or to whom they were trying to appeal to. Secondly OW is notoriously damp at that time of year, as we've seen in the past with the cancellation of more than one May bank holiday show.

The loss of G-VFWE is greater, and I'd probably have tried to go this year.

Heard about this a while ago. Was going to go to G-VFWE too.  :(

If you want to go to Culdrose at some point, I'd reccommend going this year as i fear it may be the last. Rising insurance costs came close to killing this years show (last years was likely to be the last one.)  :(
