China definately didnt steal any technology's. Atleast no more then most western country's like the U.S and european countries do. And, China has enough resources in there own country to be able to develope new technology's. Especialy with the current economical pace it is at.

No offense, but that sounds a little ignorant.  The Chinese can and do develop their own technology but they also steal more than any other nation.

Actually "steal" is too strong a word as the lack of intellectual property law in China makes such activity entirely legal.  Which is itself a problem in the private sector: Chinese companies copy products from other countries and market them as the original.  There was a problem in the US where a Chinese company copied toothpaste (Crest or Colgate I believe) and sold it in the US.  Unfortunately it was tainted with some chemical and the FDA had a hard time recalling it as there was no way to tell it apart from the real thing, right down to the "made in USA" label.  We have a problem where I work as well with counterfeit electronics parts.  You can't tell them apart from the real thing until you tear it open and look under an electron microscope.  This really puts the retail distribution chains under threat.  Think that Intel chip or GeForce graphics card you got off the internet is the real thing?  It may be an only partially functional Chinese knockoff.  You have no way of knowing.  The only way to get a real AMD chip or InVidia is to buy direct from the company that sells 'em.  Even those hologram stickers are no proof anymore.

In the end its us consumers who get screwed by this behavior.

Whilst Chinese espionage is doing its best (lets face it if you can steal it rather than waste your own money on R&D then why not) for those of you who think that what the Chinese are up to is bad you should read the Mitrokhin Archives and look at the track record of the KGB post-WWII! It'll leave you with your jaw on the floor! We also shouldn't forget that the Western countries are outsourcing most of their manufacturing (of nearly everything) to China! So of course there'll be similiarities if the same devices we're using are made in Chinese factories! They'd be mad not to copy.
Personally I greatly admire the Chinese and especially love their food ;)

If that is a plane, it is truly one of the ugliest planes I have ever seen!  :o

(PS - My view that the above plane is sinfully ugly in no way reflects a negative opinion of the Chinese on my part . . . it's just a really ugly plane, IMHO!)

Alas Ekranoplans are ALL uglier than a bag of spanners! They're very functional rather than beautiful.
Mind you a lot of planes I know could come under that heading ::) ;D

Thats a 'Lun' class Ekranoplan. just to scare the readers (it has 8 anti-ship missiles... each of them is capable of blowing up a Nimitz class carrier)

IF it can get close enough to the carrier and sneak a missile through its defenses.  Not a very likely scenario.  You can buy a bullet capable of killing the leader of a country at WalMart, but getting it in to said country's leader is the difficult part...

Right down to the "Made in USA" label?!?

but getting it in to said country's leader is the difficult part

Terribly difficult, Abe Lincoln, JFK, Ronnie Regan (although he did survive), zillions of African PMs/Presidents and S. America is awash in dead politicians etc etc.
It doesn't take much skill or a great brain to do these sort of things..... unfortunately.
If the Chinese are making something for a foreign market then it has to meet the required specifications fo that country or it isn't accepted is my understanding. And knowing how rigorous the UK testing system is I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Chinese made copy of something. Our DVD player is one of those and I'm delighted with it (along with my DVD-ROM drives in the PC) etc etc.
You're just paying for the "name" not the product with most things these days. My Phillips kettle packed up after just over 13 months use. My cheapie Chinese imitation is going strong after 4 years of relentless use (at least three boilings a day minimum) :o

That's a little different.

I am not a fan of Machavellinism.

True, however you can outsource much technology, just as long as you keep your most sensative technology to yourself.

Personally I greatly admire the Chinese and especially love their food ;)

Don't get me wrong.

But the question remains, where will this Chinese ground-effect plane operate?  On glassy surfaced lakes, or in open seas where you can have 12-15 foot swells?
