Fantastic Yeovilton Airday addition!

Postby mrjake2002 » Sun Jun 17, 2007 3:46 pm

[quote]The organisers of RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day 2007, which takes place on the 7th July (07.07.07), are very proud to present one of the most impressive sights in aviation; the enormous Antonov An-124. This vast Russian-built strategic military freighter, which is making its Yeovilton debut, joins an already impressive list of both foreign participants and debutantes at this year

To be fair this isn't going to get me to yeovil.
But you cant argue that for the price, Yeovil has to be the best value airshow in the UK for its size.

If i'm anywhere that day, it's going to be Duxford, Glacier Girl is better than any Antonov for me. ;)

Same here (hopefully) come to think of it. Pretty silly scheduling them for the same date.

Lots going on that weekend. You could always go to Yeovilton on Saturday & Duxford on Sunday if you wish. I won't be going to either this year.

I was very tempted :D, but train services to Duxford are terrible on Sundays

I hope to be at Duxford - maybe on the Saturday. The Lightning wins it for me. :)

I'd love to, but coming from Newcastle, Duxford is far enough, never mind the massive drive to Yeovilton (which we have done many years ago when we had relatives in Dorset).

Huh! - So much for that! It didn't turn up in the end.
:(
Any thoughts why?

Apart from that it was an excellent day. Quite an array of flying displays including the Patrouille Suisse and the Tiger Club's Turbulents (brilliant), as well as the usual Red Arrows (less one) and the BBMF.

I managed to get midly sunburnt though, hardly surprising though; the best day this summer spent looking up. Damn

[edit]Darn? what's this? I said da[ch1084]n![/edit]
