Seen that before. That can't be good for the main landing gear. :P

Nice vid  ;D If I saw a plane landing like that in a real airport and I didn't know better I'd freak out  :o

That video reassures me that air travel is safe.

Then there are the videos where the aircraft turns into a fireball.

You have no idea how much I got pissed off when the morons at CNN said the A380 landing was bad. Or when someone lands at Kai Tak off-center people say it's a bad landing. Keep your mouth shut unless you can do better.

You still cant accept that the Alitalia MD11 was a bad landing can you?  ;D

Geez...you need to let it go man. And the A380 landing at LHR wasn't really a school book example. I'm pretty sure the pilots heard that one way or another.  ;)

A "bad" landing in my book is one where once the plane hits the ground the wings fall off  ;D I never said those were bad landing in the video... I just said if I were a normal every day person without a hint of flying knowledge I'd freak out if a plane did that at the airport  ;)

Pfft.. and my instructor always got so mad when I'd side-load a Cessna 150... Pfft...
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.

IMO, the only "bad" landing is one where you fail to land intact. Some may not look pretty and they might jar the pax a little, but at least you are on the ground again, and still alive.

I remember posting this a while ago in the FS9 thread. Although it was the version w/o the Spanish subtitles and much more appropriate music IMO!  :P

OK and I suppose you are going to tell me that this landing was intended to test the tyre pressures!

I'm only calling a spade a spade, and now you know the background to those videos.

Regarding the new ones you posted, the first one is an Alitalia MD11 at Kai TAk (again). And I've had a lenghty debate abotu that video. Yes the landing is a poor one.

OK, don't take my comments to heart! You seem to know a lot about these aviation clips. What then was the reason for the sudden direction change of that landing Jumbo? When I first saw it I thought it was a very cool extreme Xwind landing but having seen how the smoke from the tyres remains static after touchdown it clearly has nothing to do with Xwinds.   :)
