Boeing Name Format

Postby jb2_86_uk » Sun Jul 23, 2006 8:39 am

Does anyone know why the Boeing family of jet airliners are all 7x7? I have done some research and not found anything about WHY this name format was chosen?

If anyone knows, could they enlighten me? this has really been bugging me for some time!

Dunno. What I do know though is that the 787 was not named as such just to sell it to the asian markets as some believe.

You'll be calling it 787 by the time it starts flying.

Hey, guess what the next Boeing airliner is going to be called.

My guess is 797. Though I could be wrong as it wouldn't persuade certain markets to buy it over the Airbus equivilent. :P
