But you have to admit, it's a potietial target, no?

Normally i'm not worried about these things..but i dont know....it just feels wierd.

Ditto the "not really"... any NASCAR race would make more sense...  or any other major sporting event.

I have yet to meet a non-pilot who had any idea what Airventure was, and that includes a friend who grew up in Wisconsin. And it's been the single biggest aviation event in the country for decades now.

Besides... things seem pretty casual at Wittman during the show week, but people are keeping an eye on the flight line- people who know what they're looking for, and what to do about it. If anyone were foolish enough to do something nasty there, hoping for some collective national anguish (mistake #1), they'd have a hard time pulling it off.
You could possibly sneak in some bottle rockets and set an ultralight on fire from the campground, but other than that, I don't see much chance of "The Terrorists" making a mess of Airventure.

From the unnatural nose-up attitude in that video it was inevitable that it couldn't maintain height. Any experienced R/C modeller will tell you that. It might have been better if he'd levelled out a bit.

Well the problem wasn't totally the attitude, it was the fact that engine started to lose power during the takeoff roll.  The beginning seemed to be OK, but toward the end things kind of went to crap on him.  The airplane was never able to climb unfortunately.
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.
