Movie flying: capricorn 1 (part 4)

The saga continues... this sequence is the best reason to rent this movie....

He manages to climb onto the wing....

And off they go. Remember- no computers, no matte screens, no dummies, no models... this is the real deal.

The choppers give chase- still foolishly in tight formation, even though they could easily outrun the Stearman and cut it off from two sides. But then there'd be no awesome chase sequence...

They may have used a dummy for a couple of shots, but this is definitely some real wing-walking.

They're getting awful close, and they have gun pods... time to get drastic.

Down into a few canyons, trying to shake them off. The camera makes it look hairier than it is, but it's some pretty masterful flying. What's also impressive is the fact that the 2 choppers follow right along, and the whole thing is filmed from another chopper!! Must've spent weeks planning all these shots!

Real Stearman, real rocks, really good stunt pilot: Frank Tallman.

Next: more of the chase scene!!
