Bermuda Triangle?

It is a proven fact that there are weird goings on in this patch of ocean that covers more than 500,000 square miles. It runs from Bermuda in the mid-Atlantic in what's generally concidered a southwest line to Saint Augustine on the northeastern coast of Florida, then almost due south to the Keys, shoots over to Puerto Rico, then back up to Bermuda. (not really a triangle, but a trapezium)

Lighting from a blue sky, compasses spinning, All COM, NAV, ADF, and electrical equiptment stops working correctly, 200+ MPH jets of air (like the jet stream at a lower altitude), Neutercanes, ball lightning, storms that spin up in a couple of minutes and then dissapate just as fast...not to mention aircraft that just dissappear.

Has anyone flown the Triangle and encountered something odd up there?  Anyone seen something strange?  I have quite a story about what happened to me and my buddy (and his wife) while he flew us back from Bermuda to Miami two years ago.

With all the pilots here, I would think a few of you have flown that patch of ocean.  I know it was fairly active in the late 70's early 80's but people don't much talk about it anymore.  Kind of hesitant to talk about my experiances there just because of that.

As a passenger, many times...as we lived in Haiti, our flight used to hop across to Bermuda to pick up some passengers. I don't remember anything happening to the aircraft. Being young, I was always given the window seat aboard AA. So, I can't confirm...but yes, there are weird happenings going on near the Bermuda Triangle (Trapezium)

I've always been sceptical of the Bermuda Triangle. It does not appear on any official map & is not recognised by the US Coastguard who patrol the area regularly. Hundreds of commercial flights must pass safely through the area every single day. Most of these so-called proven facts are easily debunked as the area of the "Triangle" has been conveniently extended to fit the legend every time there's an unexplained event. The often quoted Marie Celeste mystery is actually based on a fictional short story, J. Habakuk Jephson's Statement, written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle under a pseudonym in 1883. http://www.siracd.com/work_mary.shtml

There might well be anomalies in this area but these are not usually confined to the Triangle. Many of these things can be explained by bad weather & sudden tropical storms that are very common in this part of the world. If you have personal experience within the area of the original Triangle* I would like to hear more.

I'm with the skeptics... but being a true skeptic (that is: open-minded), I can believe certain weird things that have been reported there might have occurred as described (sudden, yellowish haze is a very common one; another is weird magnetic readings or radio problems). I've flown on airliners a few times thru there and never noticed anything odd, but it is the North Atlantic, after all, and that whole ocean is known for odd, often unpredictable weather.

The family and I having sailed through the Bermuda Triangle several times and having flown through it several times in our own aircraft and boat we experienced no problems.

We even joked about it at certain points and times along the trip.

I guess it is like asking someone to believe in unidentified flying objects or ghosts without first seeing something.

I am from the old school, show me and then maybe I will believe.  
If a flying saucer were to land on my strip and something got out and said "Take me to your leader" I would take it over to the old girl so she could give it a verbal blast for not calling before landing LOL
