Do they have a shot?

I just ran across this info, it's probably old news to some, but I would like to hear other opinions on it.

Do you think the Aston boys stand a chance against Audi this year?

That's one pretty car they're bringing to the game this year. 8-)

Audi have also got Peugeot to worry about with the high speed of Le Mans. On the Aston, I reckon it's got a fair chance. There seems to be a fair chunk of last seasons Charouz outfit (which ran an LMP1 Lola Aston) which had fair success behind the factory Peugeots in Europe, and anything run by Prodrive has a fair chance at anything.

To have 3 top teams again running in the 24hrs will be a good thing - not really seen since the early 90s, with Jag, Sauber Mercedes, and the Joest and privateer Porsches.

Lovely looking car, just a shame that Thomas Enge crashed it's sister car 007 (Two cars, 009 & 007).

The Czech driver lost control at the fast Signes right-hander (Paul Ricard) & hit the barriers. The monocoque was damaged beyond repair & the car written off after only 75 laps testing.

A small setback, or something like that.  :)

If that deserves a paper bag, then the Peugeot needs double bagging, and the new Audi needs a lead lined box! ;D

I agree, I'm bonkers over all the cars this year, especially the Audi!

Just seems to me that after for example, the Porsche 962 and similar shaped cars, the designers lost the aesthetic plot. It seems that the old adage with aircraft, if it looks good, it will fly well does not work for cars. For todays Le Mans cars, if it is close to the ground, the roof line is low and it is pug ugly then it is a Le Mans winner :-? ;D

Sadly the Jaguar XJR-6 to 12, the Sauber C8, C9 and C11, and the Porsche 956/962 were the last designed without the interference of a big PC. Blame Ross Brawn and the Jaguar XJR-14, which seems to have been the first of the current mould.
