Formula 1 will soon be switching to hybrid technology. Fuel cells and so on. Its about time motor-racing moved forward in new fuels.

Using electric hybrids for racing has exciting possibilities: an electric motor yields 100% torque immediately! Fewer pit stops, too...
Wasn't there a Formula 1 (?) car entered a while back that used 4 motors (1 at each wheel) in a hybrid system, but was disqualified? Where the heck did I hear that...?

That would probably be the "Mac-It Special" from the CanAm days ... it never raced but did attempt to qualify a few times.
Getting 4 (as in FOUR!) Bombadeir snowmobile engines to run in harmony would be almost impossible!
As for a Diesel .... well, tons of low down torque, a great showcase for diesel technology and at an event such as LM better fuel economy and the weight increase counts for nothing.
