ORBX NA Northern Rockies

Postby patchz » Mon Nov 08, 2010 9:24 pm

ORBX recently released NA Pacific Fjords, which I will soon get. But in checking it out, I discovered they will soon release NA Northern Rockies which extends PNW & Pacific Fjords to the east, almost twice the size of PNW. It includes parts of Montana, Washington, Idaho, BC, and Alberta. There is more, but I will let you read what they say. Check it out at http://fullterrain.com/. I can't wait. :)

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Do you know what the download size is for the main file?

I see they have a download wrapper but can't see the download file size.

Hope it ain't as large as their PNW.

I don't know, but I just got Pacific Fjords and the user guide has a map which shows an outline of all three, PNW, PFJ, & PNR. PNR is quite a bit larger than either, so I would guess the download size is too. If you click on 'click for coverage area' just above the screenshot gallery, it will show the coverage and airports. There are a heck of a lot of airports. The text says over 340 upgraded. It may take five or six hours on my connection, (PFJ started out saying four, but actually took between 2 and 3) but based on PNW and what I have seen of PFJ so far, I'd say it will be worth it.
