Flight1 "invalid license" message

Postby Hawkeye313 » Mon Mar 07, 2005 10:00 pm

Just wanted to warn you guys of something that happened to me.  I purchased Flight1's ATR 72/500 a while ago, and everything was great.....until I reformatted my HD.  I did all my reinstalling, (FS9, payware, etc.) and commenced playing.  That's when I got the infamous "invalid license" message while trying to select the ATR.  After several more reinstalls, posting on their forum, and everything else I can think of I still find myself unable to use their product.  I have heard that there is a different method used by persons without a internet connection available to install the product, so I contacted Flight1 about that (my last hope?).  I'm not alone, there are several other posts on this very same topic.  I'm not sure if the other virtual pilots are able to fix their problem or not, since they probably don't come back to post what happens.  Maybe they do what I did, which was get P.O.'d and go to PMDG and buy the 737NG package.  What I do know is that I got one reply from a tech guy, and that was the standard "have you done this?" reply that everyone else is getting.  Ahhhh!!!!, I'm so frustrated with all the freakin' piracy protection that prevents me, the legitimate customer, from being able to use the product that I spent my hard earned money on.  Did I mention that Pacific Fighters took offense to my DVD drive?  That required downloading a .dll file to get PF to come around to my way of thinking.   I just needed to vent and wanted to warn you guys about the Flight1 installer.  Has anyone else here had this problem, and if so how did you fix it?  If I find the answer I'll post it here.

Hmmm.. I had to re-install after a new hard drive was installed!
4-5 of the planes.  Now where I had the problem was when I re-installed FSUIPC back in November.
Both ATR and Cessna 310 had to be re-installed?
Project  Sierra Hotels' T-37 also took a dump because of FSUIPC.
It all started with the ATR service pack 2.1 The ATR would give prompts about an old FSUIPC.???? ("Version3.4.1.1"?)
So try re-installing,Just make sure you un-install it with the un-installer! Get service pack 2.1 and make sure FSUIPC is up to date before running the EXE's.
Oh and one more thing.... If I rememeber right it will over write "Any new versions of Text-O-Matic" you may have installed!
I know it's a pain.
I'm in the process of getting a new computer built!, And I'm not looking forward to doin' all this stuff all over again!
It's kinda cool to be able to Down-Load from someones' site, But from now on I think I'll opt for a C/D delivered via the USPS!

While I do have the latest ATR (2.1), I hadn't thought about the FSUIPC.  I also have 3.411, but never got a prompt like you did.  I'm downloading the new .dll file, and I'll check it out after work tonight. Finally, the first suggestion that I've gotten that isn't crap.  :D

Okay, the new .dll didn't do the trick  :-/.  At this point I'm disgusted with the whole thing.  I'm just glad that this happened before I purchased another Flight1 plane.  I think they have a fantastic product, but I won't pay for something that I may or may not be able to use.

How about just uninstalling it and then reinstalling it.

Also, do you have FS9.1?

I've reinstalled several times now, and I do have FS9.1.  That was the version I was running when I first purchased and installed the ATR, and it worked fine then.  ???
