Help with Guages

Postby eno » Mon Jan 26, 2004 3:14 pm

Ive downloaded a panel for one of my aircraft only to discover that half the guages for it seem to be from FS2002 pro... I'm running standard. Can anyone tell me where I can get the guages required? ... They seem to be Mooney Bravo and Kingair from what I can see on the panel.cfg. I'm naturally assuming that these are default FS2K2pro aircraft.

Cheers to anyone who can help.

Mooney Bravo and Kingair are default FS2002 pro aircraft.  Since you didn't get the pro version you're kind of stuck.  MS vigorously enforces its copyright on all its software.  I doubt you will find a freely available download.

Eno,

WebbPA is correct in everything he says. But a year or so ago I had the same question and located the answer at the planesimulation website. Check out this link and scroll down to about the third topic.

http://www.planesimulation.com/tips1/tips3.htm

It tells you how to get the gauges for the King Air, Concorde and Mooney from the Microsoft site for FS2000. It looks legal or I wouldn't mention it here. Finding the FS2000 area may take some time, but it's worth a try.

Let us know if you have any luck.

If your computer can handle it, I would suggest getting FS2004 instead. It's got all the required gauges, plus GMAX ;)

I would if I could..... but untill I can afford a new puter then 2004 is out of the question.

The puter is ancient with on board graphics that cant be upgraded.
As soon as I can get a new system then ..... Ill be joining the 2004 club.

If you're getting Pro just for the Gmax you should know that you can get Gmax for free here http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/ .  I think it's a better/upgraded version than the one that comes with Pro.

Do you want/need instructor mode or do you just want to add aircraft and Gmax?  You can just extract the additional aircraft and Gmax without a reinstall.

Check some reviews and see what the differences between standard and pro are.  MS used to have a page describing the differences but that seems to be gone with the release of 2004.

I just saved all the files that had been amended and transfered them onto a clean install ....... so far so good.

I usually do some puning once I've got everything I want running ...... so we'll see what happens in a month or so.
