FS2002 and XP Pro... Whats the deal

Postby DimSim » Sat Aug 30, 2003 5:20 pm

I have a restricted user account in XP Proffesional.
For some reason I can't run FS2002 in my logon.
Does anyone no what the problem is and how to fix it?

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
I just created a restricted account and indeed, fs2002 does not show up in the programs list. I noticed however that it is possible to go to the fs2002 main folder (using explorer) and doubleclick the fs2002 logo. It starts no problem then.
Don't know how you can fix it in another way but I think you can fly if you want to. Don't know if this is enough answer to your question - maybe one of the others can help you better if you need more help.
Cheers

Hi Dimsim,

In windows explorer, locate the following,
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

You should have the following:\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 2002.

If not, it is restricted by administrative rights.
You should be able to get around this by creating a new folder called Microsoft Games, in this new folder make another folder and call it Flight Simulator 2002.
In your new Flight Simulator 2002 folder create the following shortcut's;
Flight Simulator 2002
Flight Simulator 2002 Manual
Flight Simulator 2002 Readme
Uninstall Flight Simulator 2002

Simply place these new folders in the following folder;
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Right Click on Flight Simulator 2002 (Shortcut) and go to Send to > Desktop (Create Shortcut) to place a shortcut on your logon desktop.

I hope this helps

Good Luck
