There are some who think they're real pilots.

Some really are ;)

Yeah, Andrew, but some think they could just take over a 777 in an emergency and execute a perfect landing.  It isn't going to happen... ::)...I bet they couldn't even hold the thing steady.

I have the Saitek X35, the previous model to the X45. In paticular I like the X35 better, I hate those green and blue colors on the X45, mine is jet black. The X45's only advantage over mine is a few buttons. I use it for everything.

;D

hi

I'd like some proper steering column, rudders and throttles, but just can't find the right spec for the right price.

There's a market there if someone wants to get in to it. ;)

For $200 you have a Ch Products Flight Sim Yoke, but you have to buy the rudder too. That costs about $130 I think

Yeah, but beware, you might forget that it's only a sim, and we're not allowed to spend cash on a computer game...according to certain posters ::)

But on a serious note, the CH products kick ass, but I didn't weant to add another 50 bucks so I went for the cougar instead. I'd like to hear what CH owners have to say about their yokes, I haven't met ONE who is not satisfied :)

Nexus;

You imply that:

$=fun

Hog wash!!

Fun=fun

Also you compared your stick to a new Trans-AM?
Does this mean in 6 months it will be in the shop!
or the Repo man is looking for it? ;D ;D

Enough of this, Nexus, everyone can do as they
like, I can afford what ever I want, I chose to
spend my money on other things, Kimber is going
to try flying leasons, and I know where there is a
0 hours 310, complete rebuild, waiting to be certified!!

I'm flying in flight sim with a CH Products Yoke with Throttle, Mixture, and Prop, a Microsoft Sidewinder 2, and the CH rudder pedals. I use the pedals all the time. The only reason I bought the yoke is because I found it at Electronics Boutique for only $120 compared to the almost $200 you find it on the internet. I use my yoke for any aircraft that actually has a yoke in it and I use my joystick for any aircraft that actually flys with a stick. The yoke also has three levers which can be used for engine 1, engine 2, and spoilers in most of your airliners (not a big 747 fan). I really don't mind spending the money on flight sim because it's my money and I can use it for what I want. If someone else wants to spend $10000 on a full blown cockpit sim...fine if some one wants to buy FS2002 and a simple $15 joystick (that's how I started out) then that's fine to. It's just all about having fun no matter how much you spend.

WELL SAID!

I agree that there have to be limits when you're dealing with a GAME.  ($300 for a joystick is far beyond such a point!)

I decided long ago that if I was going to spend that kind of money on anything flight-related, it would be stick time on a REAL plane, not what is essentially a glorified cartoon!
Great edit, Bob.

Yes, it is MY view which is immature and naive, because I'm the one who still equates money spent with level of enjoyment.

What an ass.
