Stop Plane Stop!!!!!!! whoa!!!!!!!

Postby kennz.c » Mon Jul 14, 2003 2:55 pm

I recently downloaded two f-16's the other day, on is the south carolina ANG model and the other the New York ANG roughly the same models just different paint.  Trouble is the idle seems to be set a little to high.  seems the just have a mind of thier own,  sitting on the ramp with brakes set the move foward at about 5 10knts.  And landing well uh takes about 10000' not exagerating to get em stopped.  This is  flaps down air brakes out and thrust to idle.
Tried to add reverse thrust in the config file didn't work
What next?

All fighters are like this.... in real life they have parashoots (bad spelling, I know) to stop them.... that's the way it is bro...... fighters usually don't have reverse thrust.... have you tried activating spoilers?

I've got a "tweaked" aircraft.cfg and .air file that will fix both of those '16's.
Tames the Flight Dynamics, too.

Let me know, and I can send them to you for replacements.

thnx for advice seems these the only two fighters that act like that Bar ???  Guess that is the ole' realism kicking in.   I know the real deal has parachutes.  And do extend the spoilers.  I have the DBS Typhoon and it doesn't try to sneak away before i am ready to leave. And she stops too sure there is a pretty good roll out but i never run out of pavement.

Thanx Fish I would like to try those tweeks if you don't mind.  I love to fly these little ladies and it makes for some frustration when they don't watn to play nice.

Also on the same note:  The f-16 panel I got for the planes has a nice hole on the top left corner where a gauge should be..  the authors pics of the panel have that same hole.  was thinking bout putting the ADF/VOR2 guage form the default 737 looks like it would fit.  How do I do it with out knowing the gauge # on the f16 panel?

The "Version 2" F-16 panel, I think, fixes this.

It should be a back-up airspeed gauge.

Click on my user name at the left and send me a private message with your e-mail, and I'd be glad to forward those files to you.

the parachutes on fighters are set to use on short runways (less than 3000') so It is not a nessessity on FS

this problem appears very often. I think the designer are to entousiastic and put to poowered engin on very light aircraft
If dumb could fly, sky will be green (french air force proverbs)

I uploaded the modified .air and .cfg files here, so in case someone else has the problem we had, a fix is now available.

Actually, in the 3 or 4 years, I've been coming to Simviation, that's my first file upload.

Wow! Go me!!
