PMDG 737TNG and FPS

Postby tim l lam 10386 » Thu Jul 03, 2003 2:01 am

As some of you may or may not know, PMDG released the first release of their rather complete 737NG package a few days ago..  I jumped for joy when I read the press release at Avsim.

I noticed that framerates took a HUGE hit when this aircraft is loaded, much more so than any other addon I have, besides complex scenery.  At FL350 where I usually get 20 or 30fps, the cockpit and exterior  views were only getting 4 or 5fps.  I had to drop down my scenery sliders nearly to 0 to get a top rate of 8fps at FL350..

Those of you that have their 737-600/700, do you experience his drop in fps as well?

System summary:
P4 1.7GHz
NVIDIA GeForce 2 Ultra 64MB
512MB RAM

I should defrag... haven't done so in a while..  Maybe I'll get an extra fps! heh..

I've heard of it, but really havn't really looked at it.

There's too many high quality free B737s being released to be worrying about buying any
