Virtual Money

Postby va_chairman » Fri Jun 13, 2003 10:41 am

Does anyone have any suggestions on how, when running a VA, the management team could create revenue (based on passenger loads) that could be divided as a) pilot salary and b) corporate income?  That way the more pilots we have, and the more hours they log, the more money we could use to spend on aircraft, hubs, etc...thanks!
No, Orville. You went last time.

Here! This fellow has a novel approach to the problem.

Although I wouldn't try this at home myself.  ;D

it would a be difficult process really.
you would have to look into the standard costs of tickets in the real world, then look into the loads these routes get, then take into account the opperating costs, landing fees, and all the other costs. obviously as its just fun why not just say flights from east to west coast charge $150 a person economy $400 business and $600 first. pretty much  same for all domestic and then figure out international.  cargo income to. pilots pay is a tricky thing, i have heard some senior pilots are on $200+ an hour, where as some are barely on enough to pay for the hotel room.  if you want to be real accurate you could make it so your loosing over $4million a day(thats the average now isnt it):)
well this is long winded enough, tell me if i am even close to what you wanted if not i will try some other ideas

The VA I am in (livewire) pays a set amount which differs by the flight.

I forget the website addresses, but there is a virtual stock market and virtual bank dedicated to virtual airlines. Join a virtual airline and they will pay you virtual money and put it in you bank account. From there you can invest in VA stocks or actually 'purchase' stuff for your company

I'd like to do virtual baggage handling. I did apply for a handlers job on a start up airline once but it went broke before I got on the job.  ;D

Red on White you're alright.

Red on Red you'll soon be dead.
